Ramban: Continuing his on-ground outreach to ensure speedy restoration and public relief post heavy rains, flash floods and landslides, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Wednesday visited all three blocks of Sub Division Gool to monitor ongoing restoration works on roads and other damaged infrastructure.
SDM Gool Imtiyaz, Tehsildar, Executive Engineers, and other concerned officers also accompanied the DC.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the extent of damages to roads and other infrastructure in the area and inspected several affected locations including Gundi Dharam, Sangaldan, Moila, Dachan, Dedha, Gool and adjoining villages, as well as various link roads to evaluate damages and losses.
Interacting with the affected families accommodated at the lodgement centre, he assured them of all possible assistance from the District Administration, including relief under SDRF nor Ration kits, tents, and other essential supplies have already been provided to meet the immediate needs of the affected families.
The DC also inspected the Dharam Chatti road, assessed the condition of damaged houses, and directed the concerned departments to carry out necessary protection works and ensure proper drainage. He also instructed officials to ensure immediate restoration of damaged roads to facilitate smooth connectivity and accessibility for the local population across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the restoration of essential services including roads, electricity and water supply. On-the-spot directions were issued to the concerned departments to expedite the restoration of essential supplies in remaining areas and submit the relief cases of effected families on priority basis.
Later, Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Dr. Shamshad Shan, also joined the Deputy Commissioner during the damage assessment, relief distribution and restoration works.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Gool–Sangaldan road and directed the BRO to accelerate restoration work while strictly adhering to engineering standards to ensure long-term durability and safety.
The Deputy Commissioner also interacted with local residents, listened to their grievances and passed directions to concerned departments to resolve the all genuine issue as early as possible.
