DDC Chairman inaugurates two-day Dangal event at PG College Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah:  Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, along with Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh Saturday inaugurated a two-day Dangal (traditional wrestling competition) at PG College Bhaderwah.

The event is being organised by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the District Administration and in association with the Dangal Committee Bhaderwah.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including DDC West Yudhvir Thakur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutatyal, senior officials from various departments, prominent citizens and wrestling enthusiasts.

The event aims to revive traditional sports, promote local talent and boost tourism in the region. Wrestlers from different parts of the Union Territory are expected to participate in the two-day competition, which has drawn significant attention from the public.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage through such traditional events.
