KULGAM: A review meeting of the Horticulture department was today convened at Rest House, Chawalgam, under the chairmanship of Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, M.Y. Tarigami.
At the outset, Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam presented a comprehensive overview of the department’s achievements in the district during previous and the current year under various centrally and UT sponsored schemes.
He also outlined the key activities and initiatives planned for implementation during the ongoing financial year 2025-26.
MLA stated that horticulture, being the backbone of the district’s economy, requires sustained focus and intensified efforts.
He urged officials to work with greater dedication to ensure the economic upliftment of the farming community and effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
Tarigami impressed upon the officers incorporated modern technologies and best practices to farmers in order to enhance both the quality and quantity of horticulture produce.
