DC B’la distributes 27 retrofitted motorized tricycles among specially-abled
DC Reaffirms commitment to empowerment, inclusivity & equal opportunities for differently-abled citizens
Baramulla: In a step towards empowerment and inclusivity of specially-abled persons, a special event was organized Monday at Dak Bungalow Baramulla where 27 retrofitted motorized tricycles were distributed among the eligible beneficiaries.
The event was presided-over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, who handed over the keys of motorized tricycles among 27 eligible beneficiaries, marking a moment of empowerment for many families.
The event was attended by the District Social Welfare Officer, District Information Officer, other officers and officials, besides the specially-abled recipients and their families.
While extending his heartfelt congratulations to the beneficiaries, DC said that the distribution of motorized tricycles is not just about providing mobility aids but is a step towards ensuring dignity, independence, and equal opportunities for specially-abled persons.
Meanwhile, DC underscored that over the past two years, district administration Baramulla has distributed more than 600 retrofitted motorized tricycles and other assistive devices among specially-abled persons across the district.
Minga Sherpa reiterated that the government is committed to fostering inclusivity by creating enabling opportunities and removing barriers that hinder full participation of specially-abled individuals in society.
Earlier, the participants also joined virtually in the UT-level Mega Event at SKICC Srinagar, which highlighted the government’s initiatives for specially-abled persons, including the distribution of retrofitted motorized tricycles and other assistive aids across Jammu and Kashmir.

18 Motorized tricycles distributed among specially-abled persons in Kulgam
Kulgam : Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, Mohammad Afzal Parrey and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Devsar, Feroz Ahmad Shah jointly Monday distributed motorized tricycles among specially-abled persons in a function held at mini-secretariat Kulgam.
The distribution function was organized by District Social Welfare office Kulgam, which was sponsored by J&K Rehabilitation Council.
During the meeting, 18 motorized tri-cycles were distributed among the beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson DDC said that these motorized tricycles have been distributed with an aim to empower specially-abled persons.
MLA Devsar on the occasion said that efforts are in-progress to provide opportunities and proper facilities to specially-abled persons and children of the district to empower them so that they can realize their dreams and aspirations.
Among others, ADDC Altaf Ahmad Khan; DDC members, and other officials of the Social Welfare department attended the event.

36 MTCs distributed among SAPs at Ang
Anantnag : Department of Social Welfare Anantnag in collaboration with J&K Rehabilitation Council distributed 36 motorized tricycles (MTCs) among the eligible specially-abled persons (SAPs) at Town Hall Anantnag, Monday.
Members of Legislative Assemblies of different Assembly Constituencies of the district viz. Pahalgam, Bijbihara, Anantnag West, Anantnag East and Kokernag attended the event as main guests, which witnessed participation from DSWO, TSWOs, SWs and other officials of the department besides the beneficiaries.
On the occasion, MTCs were distributed constituency wise among the SAPs by the concerned MLAs. The beneficiaries lauded the efforts of Social Welfare dept in improving their mobility and easing their living conditions.
Providing MTCs and prosthetic aids to the SAPs is seen as a significant initiative to empower them and reflects the commitment of Social Welfare office Anantnag in serving the poor and marginalised communities through rights based welfare measures.

Pulwama joins UT-level mega event, distributes motorised tricycles to specially-abled persons
Pulwama : As part of the Union Territory-level programme, district administration Pulwama Monday virtually joined the main event of distribution of retrofitted motorized tricycles among specially-abled individuals by the Chief Minister of J&K at SKICC, Srinagar, and simultaneously organised a similar distribution function in the district.
During the event, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pampore, Hasnain Masoodi; MLA Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naik; and MLA Rajpora, Ghulam Mohi Uddin Mir distributed 16 retrofitted motorised tricycles to beneficiaries from different areas of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLAs appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare department in implementing welfare schemes on the ground and urged for sustained efforts to strengthen support mechanisms for specially-abled persons.
The event also saw participation of district and sectoral officers along with officials and beneficiaries of various schemes of Government.

27 Motorised tricycles distributed among specially-abled persons at Pinjora Shopian
Shopian : Social Welfare department, Shopian Monday organised an impressive distribution function of motorised tricycles among specially-abled persons at Palash Pinjora, Shopian.
Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie and MLA Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay presided over the function, which was attended by a large gathering of people and beneficiaries.
MLAs congratulated the beneficiaries and handed over 27 motorized tricycles along with their keys to the beneficiaries.
While interacting with the disabled persons, MLAs said that the government is extending special care and assistance to persons with special abilities and administration is committed to fulfill the needs of this important section of society.
These motorized tricycles are intended to enhance mobility and support the beneficiaries to foster their independence.
This action was part of a broader social inclusion initiative; ensuring disadvantaged youth have the means to move around independently.
DSWO, TSWO and officials of SWD were present on the occasion.

Motorized tricycles handed over to specially-abled persons at Udhampur
Udhampur : Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the Council for Rehabilitation of Widows, Orphans, Handicapped and Old Persons (Victims of Militancy) under the Social Welfare Department, organized a special distribution program for retrofitted motorized tricycles to empower specially-abled persons.
The UT-level inaugural ceremony was held at SKICC, Srinagar, where Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Masood Itoo distributed 547 retrofitted motorized tricycles among the beneficiaries.
In continuation to the main event, a district-level distribution programme was organized in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur, which was virtually attended by MLA Chenani, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur West, Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Ramnagar, Sunil Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh, along with other officers.
As many as 24 motorized tricycles were given away to specially-abled beneficiaries of the district at an impressive function organized by the District Administration Udhampur and Social Welfare Department.
The program commenced with a welcome address by District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta. She highlighted the welfare schemes of the Social Welfare Department dedicated to specially-abled persons.
The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the beneficiaries and appreciated the Social Welfare Department for successfully organizing the distribution camp. She emphasized that such initiatives aim not only to provide mobility and independence to specially-abled persons but also to create awareness about government schemes, ensuring that their benefits reach the deserving individuals.

SWD distributes Motorized Tricycles to specially abled at Samba
Samba : District Social Welfare Department Samba Monday organized a special event in synchronization with the UT-level motorized tricycles (scooties) distribution programme held at SKICC, Srinagar. The event was graced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as the Chief Guest, while MLAs from different districts joined the programme virtually from their respective constituencies.
In Samba district, the occasion was marked by the esteemed presence of MLA Samba Surjeet Singh Slathia; MLA Vijaypur, Chander Prakash Ganga; and MLA Ramgarh, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal.
A total of 27 beneficiaries from the district were provided with motorized tricycles, a significant step towards empowering persons with disabilities by enhancing their mobility, self-reliance, and social inclusion.
The event in Samba was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan who appreciated the initiative and underlined the government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of specially-abled persons.

DC Doda distributes Motorized Tricycles among Specially-Abled beneficiaries
Doda : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh Monday distributed retrofitted motorized tricycles among specially-abled persons of the district here at a simple event.
The initiative, launched under the aegis of the Council for Rehabilitation of Widows, Orphans, Handicapped and Old Persons (Victims of Militancy), UT of J&K Social Welfare Department, is aimed at empowering Persons with Disabilities by enhancing their mobility, self-reliance and social inclusion.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed optimism that the mobility support would significantly improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries by providing them with safe and comfortable transportation options. He further encouraged the recipients to complete the required formalities for obtaining driving licenses, which would allow them to operate their vehicles smoothly and in compliance with the law.
The event witnessed the participation of District Social Welfare Officer Doda, Tariq Qazi, along with other Officers and officials of the department.
