KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the functioning of Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the district.
DC took a detailed review of the services being provided through CSCs including Aadhaar enrolment, Ayushman Bharat, e-Shram, PM Kisan, revenue services, online utility payments and other citizen-oriented facilities. He appreciated the role of CSCs in bridging the digital divide and ensuring last-mile delivery of e-governance services in rural and border areas of the district.
It was informed in the meeting that there are 1451 active CSCs in the district which provide the digital services to the people.
DC directed the Revenue and Rural Development departments to provide necessary support to strengthen functioning of CSCs.
He also directed all Tehsildars to monitor functioning of CSCs through on spot inspections on a regular basis.
Considering the important role of CSCs in bridging the digital divide, he directed the Information department and District Manager CSC to ensure wide publicity of services being provided by CSCs so that benefits can be availed by people in the district especially in far flung areas.
He also directed concerned officials to ensure necessary infrastructure to establish the first Digital Excellence Centre at the headquarters in coming months.
