DC Bandipora reviews functioning of Health sector

Emphasises timely completion of projects, improved service delivery

BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today reviewed the functioning of the health sector in a meeting held at the Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.
On the occasion, DC took stock of the status of various national health programmes, including NHM, Child and Maternal Health, RBSK, Anaemia Mukt Bharat, Ayushman Bharat, PMJAY-SEHAT, NP-NCD, National Dialysis Programme, and National Mental Health Programme. She emphasised the need to reduce Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), improve NFHS indicators, and strengthen JSSK and JSY implementation.
Reviewing infrastructure and projects under District and State CAPEX, DC directed BMOs to visit all ongoing sites and submit reports. She asked R&B to coordinate closely with the district administration and maintain the pace of works.
Medical Superintendent (MS) apprised the chair about the overall performance of District Hospital Bandipora, highlighting a good footfall in OPD with nearly one lakh patients visiting every month. He informed that DH Bandipora has been providing 24×7 services in Emergency, Gynaecology, Medicine, Blood Bank, and Laboratory, while specialties including Surgery, Anesthesia, ENT, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, and Dental are operational on a day-care basis.
Facilities like CT Scan, Dialysis, and Tele-radiology were also reviewed.
During the meeting, DC directed concerned departments to ensure fencing of all structures and urged concerned officers to resolve land issues in coordination with CMO and BMOs.
DC directed J&K Housing Board to ensure early resolution of issues, including the functioning of the lift at DH Bandipora. She also stressed the importance of maintaining tele-consultation schedules under e-Sanjeevani and ensuring proper utilisation of equipment under Biomedical Equipment Management and Maintenance Programme.
She appreciated the role of on-ground health workers, noting that their dedication has ensured strong performance in Kayakalp, ABDM, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, Rabies Control, and other national schemes.
Indu urged all stakeholders to work with dedication and on a fast-track basis to ensure timely completion of projects and improved service delivery to meet the growing needs of patients effectively.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Maqbool Lone; Chief Medical officer Bandipora, Dr. Ishtiyaq Naik; ExEn R&B Bandipora and Sumbal, Medical Superintendent, DH Bandipora, BMOs of different blocks, and other concerned officers.
