Jammu : Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Shahnaz Akhter Friday conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of Block Bishnah and assessed the progress of various development schemes being implemented in the area.
During her visit, Shahnaz Akhter inspected several ongoing and completed works under key schemes including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and Capex (CD & Panchayat) schemes.
She underscored the importance of strict adherence to the guidelines of each scheme and directed the field staff to ensure timely completion of all works. Emphasising the need for transparency and accountability, she instructed officials to maintain proper records and ensure the installation of Citizen Information Boards (CIBs) at work sites to promote public awareness.
Akhter stressed the importance of achieving the intended objectives of the schemes, ensuring that benefits effectively reach the grassroots level.
The Director was accompanied by Superintendent Engineer REW Jammu Rajesh Kumar Agastam, Joint Director Administration Avleen Kour Bali, Er. Danish Rasool Mir, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Jammu Ravinder Singh Rana, Deputy Director (Planning), Block Development Officer Sonia Devi, along with other officers and field functionaries of the department.
