The ADC directed for adequate provision and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities including fruits, vegetables, milk and flowers for religious purposes. Instructions were issued for the constitution of joint market-checking teams to curb overcharging and ensure the availability of quality edible items at fair prices.

She also emphasised on the need for uninterrupted power and potable water supply to all main celebration sites. Departments were asked to fast-track the repair of potholes and ensure the cleaning of all approach roads, lanes and marketplaces, facilitating smooth movement for devotees.

The deployment of fire and emergency services, medical teams and ambulances at designated locations was also reviewed. For public safety and convenience, the ADC stressed efficient traffic management plans and directed close coordination between the traffic police and municipal authorities to avoid congestion and ensure smooth vehicular flow during processions and at celebration venues.

ADC Ansuya Jamwal urged all departments to work in close coordination and maintain heightened vigil to ensure the peaceful, smooth and joyous conduct of Janmashtami in Jammu. She appealed to citizens and devotees to cooperate with the administration and follow all guidelines for a safe festival.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Commissioner General, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services, SDPO City North, DySP Traffic North and senior officers from the Power Development Department, Jal Shakti, Jammu Municipal Corporation and other allied departments besides representatives of religious bodies.
