SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP- Hub For Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar organized one day Awareness cum on -spot facilitation camp for various welfare schemes for local community members at Syedpora today.
During the camp, on-the-spot registrations were facilitated for several schemes, including Old Age Pension, Women in Distress Pension, Physically Challenged Pension, and Marriage Assistance Scheme, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits. Besides, registrations of local community members were also carried out under different Social Security Pension Schemes, Ladli Beti Scheme, and other livelihood generation schemes.
The objective of organising the awareness camp was to bring the local population under the ambit of various social welfare schemes and to strengthen outreach at the grassroots level. The general public was also educated and sensitised about the benefits and eligibility criteria of different schemes aimed at improving their quality of life.Approximately 200 people participated in the camp and nearly 50 beneficiaries were onspot linked to different welfare schemes.
