Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the assessment of funds under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for restoration of damaged infrastructure in the district. The meeting focused on the proposed SDRF requirements for the financial year 2025–26 and the additional funds required for the current financial year (2025–26).
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; ACD Sheraz Ahmed; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B) Divisions Ramban and Banihal, Executive Engineers PMGSY Divisions Ramban and Banihal, Executive Engineer JPDCL Batote, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department Ramban, CEO MC Ramban, AD FCS & CA Ramban, besides Block Development Officers (BDOs) who participated virtually and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of ongoing and pending SDRF works and directed BDOs to expedite execution and ensure completion within the stipulated time frame. He also reviewed the condition and restoration works of nallahs and culverts emphasizing that work quality must be ensured through regular monitoring by the concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the tendering status of the works and instructed the departments to complete all pending formalities at the earliest and commence works without delay. Discussions were held on new projects and requirements for additional funds were also assessed for both ongoing and proposed works across the district.
Emphasizing the need for effective utilization of SDRF, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on completing the works within time frame and also discussed the extra amount required to complete the pending works which are vital for the public.
The officers presented a detailed assessment of ongoing works and the requirement of allotment for the new works.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of timely restoration to minimize hardship to the public and directed all departments to work in close coordination for speedy and effective implementation of approved works.
