Ganderbal: Mountain Research Centre for Sheep & Goat (MRCS&G), Shuhama, SKUAST-K, in collaboration with the Ganderbal Press Association (GPA), organised a plantation drive of fodder tree saplings at the Shuhama Campus on Friday.
The drive was inaugurated by Senior Scientist & Head, MRCS&G, Dr. Parvaiz Reshi, along with GPA President Sofi Ayaz, in the presence of Students Welfare Officer, FVSc& AH, Dr Aijaz Qureshi; Medical Officer, FVSc&AH, SHO Ganderbal, DO Shuhama; members of the Ganderbal Press Association and scientists of MRCS&G.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Parvaiz Reshi said that SKUAST-K is observing plantation drives across all its campuses under a dedicated green initiative aimed at strengthening environmental conservation while supporting sustainable livestock production. He emphasized that fodder tree plantations play a dual role by improving environmental quality and providing nutritious leaf fodder for animals at the Research Centre.
