India Skills 2025 Health and Social Care Competition Held at GMC Srinagar

Srinagar : Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar hosted the India Skills 2025 Jammu and Kashmir competition for the Health and Social Care Skill Wednesday.
‘India Skills’, India’s largest skill competition, the platform helps young professionals demonstrate job ready skills, covering 63 skill categories.
Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College Srinagar, inaugurated the event in presence of Administrator, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak.
Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah highlighted the technical importance of competency based assessment in health care training. She stressed adherence to standardized clinical protocols, patient safety checklists, and ethical care practices. She said skill competitions strengthen hands on proficiency, clinical decision making, and teamwork. She encouraged participants to align their performance with national health standards and global benchmarks.
The regional competition focused on Health and Social Care. Participants demonstrated skills in patient care, communication, hygiene practices, and safety procedures.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation from skilled youth across the UT and was conducted in accordance with national skill stanard and prescribed assessment creteria.
The event reinforced GMC Srinagar’s role in promoting skill based education and preparing youth for national and international health care challenges.
Faculty members present on the occasion included Prof Dr S M Salim Khan, Head of the Department of Community Medicine; Prof Dr Rakesh Koul, Head of the Department of Medicine; Dr Mohammad Ashraf, Associate Professor, and State level Co-ordinator Syed Tabsum Geelani and also other faculty members of GMC Srinagar.
