Asks youth to follow his message for moral clarity, unwavering conviction

Jammu: Describing General Zorawar Singh as brave warrior, India’s greatest commander and military strategist, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that the nation must set a collective target of making Bharat powerful.

Paying tributes to Singh, on his Martyrdom Day the Lieutenant Governor, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), highlighted his monumental military campaigns in Ladakh, Baltistan, Gilgit, and Skardu, and the role he played in expansion of the Dogra Empire.

He said, “We should work together to ensure that every individual receives equal opportunities to advance.”

LG Sinha urged citizens to dedicate themselves to building a stronger and more inclusive Bharat, drawing inspiration from the legacy of General Zorawar Singh—one of the most celebrated military heroes of the region.

“We should set a target of making Bharat powerful and fulfil the dreams of General Zorawar Singh,” he said, adding that the administration and society must work together to ensure that every individual receives equal opportunities to advance.

Calling General Zorawar Singh a symbol of courage, conviction and national pride, LG Sinha noted that the entire country holds him in high esteem. “The entire nation is proud of General Zorawar Singh. His vision inspired generations by igniting passion, guiding people toward a shared vision, courage, purpose and commitment to bigger ideals,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the relevance of General Zorawar Singh’s message in the contemporary world, stressing the need for moral clarity and determination in nation-building. “We must follow his message for moral clarity and unwavering conviction to shape a better future and empower the marginalised,” he said.

LG Sinha called upon people to commit themselves to the service of society, especially the youth. He emphasized that empowering young people and guiding them toward constructive paths is essential for creating a peaceful and prosperous future. “Let us dedicate ourselves to changing lives, guiding and supporting youth, and building a more just and peaceful society,” he said.

“General Zorawar Singh’s vision inspired generations by igniting passion, guiding people toward a shared vision, courage, purpose and commitment to bigger ideals,” he said.

He called upon the youth and all sections of society to follow the message of General Zorawar Singh for moral clarity, unwavering conviction to shape the better future and empower the marginalised.

“Let us dedicate ourselves to changing lives, guiding and supporting youth and build a more just and peaceful society,” he said.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that the Government of India, under the leadership of PM Modi, is committed to honour the contributions of General Zorawar Singh.

“To honour his legacy, the Government of India has named an advanced indigenous light tank after General Zorawar Singh Ji.

The General Zorawar Singh Chair has also been established at the University of Jammu. Dedicated efforts are also being made to encourage new generations to study his unparalleled military campaigns and vision for societal organization,” he further said.

Vikram Randhawa, Member of Legislative Assembly from Bahu; Devinder Singh Kaluria, Chairman, General Zorawar Singh Memorial Education and Charitable Trust and Trustees- Riya Kaluria and Diksha Kaluria; Lt Gen RK Sharma (Retd.), President, J&K Ex-Services League; Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary Culture, prominent citizens and people from different walks of life were present.

Major General Goverdhan Singh Jamwal (Retd.); Padma Dr SP Varma, President, Gandhi Global Family, J&K; Col. Karan Singh (Retd.), President Dogra Sadar Sabha; Ex-servicemen and senior officials of Army, Civil and Police Administration were also present—(KNO)
