Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, kant Suse, Tuesday visited Malik Mohallah, Kupwara, where a tragic fire incident occurred late last night, resulting in the unfortunate loss of a young life and injuries to another person.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Mufti Fareed-u-Din, DySP Headquarters and other senior officers of the district administration.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner met the bereaved family, expressed profound sorrow over the tragic loss of life, and conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the district administration. He assured the family that all possible support and assistance would be extended to them during this difficult time.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the medical treatment being provided to the injured and directed the concerned health authorities to ensure the best possible medical care. He emphasised that there should be no lapse in the provision of timely and adequate treatment.
DC Kupwara further directed the concerned Tehsildar to carry out a detailed assessment of the damage caused by the fire and to process the case for relief as per the extant norms and guidelines. He stressed the need for prompt relief measures so that the affected family does not face any further hardship.
While interacting with members of the local community, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of fire safety awareness, particularly during the winter season when such incidents tend to increase.
