GANDERBAL: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore chaired a meeting to review the progress under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for Rabi 2025-26 season.
The meeting focused on the applications received from farmers and the current trend of coverage during Rabi season 2025-2026
During the meeting, DC emphasised for improving coverage of farmers under the scheme and highlighted the importance of expediting the process to safeguard farmers’ interests.
In order to ensure cent percent coverage of farmers in Ganderbal during Rabi 2025-26, DC issued directions to all field staff of Agriculture department and Agriculture Insurance Companies to raise awareness among farmers about the scheme and ensure 100% coverage.
Banks were also instructed to cover all KCC loanee farmers under the scheme, so that the targets under Rabi crop are met.
DC instructed all stakeholders to adopt a proactive and coordinated approach to achieve 100% percent coverage.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad; Chief Agriculture Officer and other officials of Agriculture department attended the meeting.
