Commissioner Secretary FCSCA reviews functioning of FCS & CA Jammu

JAMMU: Commissioner Secretary, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Saurabh Bhagat, today presided over a comprehensive review of the FCSCA Department’s functioning in Jammu.

Director FCSCA Jammu, Rifat Kohli besides senior officers of the department including district officers attended the meeting.

The Director apprised the Commissioner of the department’s current performance, ongoing projects and future plans aimed at to enhance efficiency, transparency and citizen-centric service delivery.

During the briefing, the Director FCSCA Jammu outlined the current stock and distribution status of food grains. She informed that 100 percent ration provisioning for winter dumping stations has been achieved, reflecting the department’s commitment to timely and reliable supply to the targeted eligible beneficiaries.

The meeting had detailed discussion on various schemes designed to streamline welfare operations. These included digitization of Migrants’ ration cards, SMART-PDS (Smart Public Distribution System) and the Aadhar-enabled Allocation and Supply Chain Management System (AeSCM).

Further, deliberations were held on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for construction of a Training-cum-Conference Hall in Jammu under the SASCI scheme, with a focus on timely progress and adherence to quality standards.

The meeting underscored the need for capacity-building of all officials at all levels with emphasis on targeted workshops and training programs, thereby improving service delivery to consumers.

The Commissioner Secretary underscored the importance of prompt and responsive service to the public, directing the officials to complete the digitization of migrants’ ration cards within the prescribed timelines in close coordination with the Relief Organization. He was also informed about the ration provisioning for Darbar Move employees at the fair-price shops located near the Darbar Move staff quarters/ accommodations. The discussions concluded with a consensus on continuing capacity-building efforts and maintaining high standards of governance and accountability.

The Commissioner Secretary also reviewed special UT Schemes wherein individual beneficiaries of AAY and PHH are provided additional 5 Kg ration, thus increasing the availability to 10 Kg.

Pertinently, the Directorate of FCS&CA, Jammu is providing 10 Kg ration per head to 37,412 number of AAY(S) beneficiaries and 6,30,694 number of PHH beneficiaries under PMFSS.
