‘End of an Era’: John Cena Set for Final Raw Appearance at Madison Square Garden

Intercontinental Champion Completes Grand Slam Ahead of Farewell on November 17

NEW YORK: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Intercontinental Champion John Cena is scheduled to make his final appearance on the promotion’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, tonight, November 17, at the iconic Madison Square Garden (MSG).

The 17-time world champion is approaching the end of his illustrious in-ring career, which is slated to officially conclude on December 13. Cena took to social media to urge fans not to miss his last performance on the red brand.

“Tomorrow night on [Netflix] is the end of an era in WWE. Don’t miss the final episode of #WWERaw [you] will ever [see] ME perform in,” Cena wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on November 16. “No better stage than the iconic [Madison Square Garden] to chant ‘Let’s Go Cena’ or ‘Cena Sucks!’ Whatever it is, The Last Time is Now because after this … I can’t wrestle.”

Raw’s General Manager, Adam Pearce, confirmed to international media that the future WWE Hall of Famer would be kicking off the broadcast from the legendary New York venue.

Cena enters his final Raw appearance on a career high, having won his maiden Intercontinental Championship during the previous week’s episode by defeating Dominik Mysterio.

This victory marked a historic milestone, officially crowning Cena as the 25th Superstar in WWE history to achieve the prestigious Grand Slam. The Grand Slam designation requires a wrestler to have held the WWE/World Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and a recognized Tag Team Championship at least once.

The Intercontinental Title reign is the final punctuation on a career defined by record-breaking success, setting the stage for his retirement match—which is expected to take place at the Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. The WWE has launched a “Last Time is Now” tournament to determine the opponent for that final, highly-anticipated farewell bout.
