14-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes 32-Ball Century for India A in Asia Cup Rising Stars
Suryavanshi Equals Rishabh Pant’s Record with Blistering Ton, Continues Record-Breaking Run
DOHA, QATAR: India’s batting prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, has once again captured the cricketing world’s attention, bagging multiple major records with a swashbuckling 32-ball century during the India A vs. United Arab Emirates (UAE) match at the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament yesterday. The game marked India A’s campaign opener at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
The 14-year-old opening batter, who already gained significant fame with his 35-ball ton for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025—becoming the youngest player to score a century in men’s T20s—lived up to his prodigious potential with an equally blistering display.
Suryavanshi’s rapid-fire hundred is now the joint second-fastest by an Indian batter in the shortest format of the game, equaling the record set by Rishabh Pant, who achieved a 32-ball century for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018.
The left-handed opener went on to score an extraordinary 144 runs off just 42 balls, an innings that featured 11 fours and a sensational 15 sixes, guiding the Jitesh Sharma-led India A side to a massive total of 297/4 in their 20 overs.
The record for the fastest T20 century by an Indian batter is jointly held by Abhishek Sharma and Urvil Patel, who both amassed the milestone in just 28 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2024.
Suryavanshi’s phenomenal form continues to see him etch his name into the record books, with this innings making him the first player in history to score two T20 centuries in 35 balls or fewer. Furthermore, at just 14 years and 232 days, he is the youngest player ever to hit a century for a men’s national representative side.
India A registered a dominant victory over the UAE, crushing them by 148 runs, with Suryavanshi deservingly named the Player of the Match.
