Doda : In continuation to the nationwide celebrations marking 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram”, a grand commemorative event was organized by the Forest Department, Range Bhalessa and the Forest Protection Force (FPF) local Unit at its Range Headquarters premises. The program was held in collaboration with Mother Dream Public High School and Summer Hill Public School, bringing together students, teachers, forest officials and community members in a spirited display of patriotism and environmental awareness.

The event commenced with the soulful recitation of Vande Mataram, followed by enlightening speeches on its historical significance and the values of unity, sacrifice and devotion it represents. Students presented patriotic songs, speeches and cultural performances celebrating the spirit of freedom and harmony while also highlighting the deep connection between love for the nation and the protection of nature. The entire atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and national pride.

The celebration was presided over by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Arun Kumar Badyal as the Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the Forest Department and participating schools for organizing such an inspiring and educational event. He emphasized the importance of linking environmental conservation with national pride, encouraging the younger generation to take active responsibility in protecting natural resources and promoting sustainability for a better future.

As part of the celebration, a plantation drive was carried out within the premises of twin schools and nearby areas. The drive aimed to raise awareness about ecological balance and to spread the message of “Green India, Clean India.” The students and staff pledged to protect the environment and plant more trees as a tribute to Mother Earth. Range Officer, Adil Rasheed Shan extended heartfelt thanks to SDM school authorities, students and forest personnel for their active participation and cooperation. The event concluded with the National Anthem, symbolizing unity, harmony and collective dedication towards a Greener and Stronger India.
