During the five-day visit, the farmers would get hands-on exposure to modern horticultural practices, advanced technologies and scientific innovations being implemented in other regions.

During the tour, the farmers would visit Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) Palampur, the Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT) and the Bee Research Station, NagrotaBagwan, where they will interact with scientists and experts to gain practical insights.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Reasi Nidhi Malik said that such exposure visits play a vital role in empowering farmers by familiarizing them with innovative technologies and successful models adopted elsewhere. She emphasized the importance of adopting modern and scientific horticultural practices to increase productivity, ensure sustainable growth and enhance farmers’ income.

She encouraged the participants to make the most of this opportunity by learning new techniques and implementing them in their fields for better yields and economic upliftment.

The training programme will focus on modern fruit cultivation techniques, integrated pest and nutrient management, protected cultivation, post-harvest management and scientific beekeeping practices.

This initiative aims to enhance farmers’ understanding of sustainable horticulture, promote income diversification and encourage the adoption of high-value crops and allied activities.
