Srinagar : In connection with the upcoming National Legal Aid Day to be observed on 9th November 2025, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar organized an Awareness Programme on Free Legal Aid across various locations of District Srinagar.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, Tasleem Arief, and under the supervision of Sub-Judge/Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, Sajad Ur Rehman.
The initiative aimed to sensitize the general public about their rights and the availability of free legal services under the Legal Services Authorities Act.
On this occasion, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Srinagar conducted awareness sessions and outreach programmes at different public places, spreading information regarding free legal aid, the role of Legal Services Institutions, and procedures to avail such services.
The Para Legal Volunteers acted as resource persons, engaging with the community, distributing informative material, and encouraging people to seek legal assistance through the District and Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
The awareness drive reflects the continued efforts of DLSA Srinagar to ensure access to justice for all, particularly for the marginalized and weaker sections of society.
