Samba : District Development Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan presided over a Block Diwas programme Tuesday at Rajpura. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals and representatives of the adjoining panchayats.

The DDC listened to a wide range of public grievances and developmental demands, with special focus on agrarian issues, employment, besides education and healthcare facilities. People from adjoining villages raised concerns regarding post-flood damages, drug abuse and sought restoration of water bodies, improvement of drainage, rural infrastructure and better sports facilities as a constructive alternative for youth.

Highlighting Rajpura’s potential for livestock rearing and farming, the DDC emphasized measures to strengthen the same through convergence of departmental efforts. She also stressed the strengthening of Gram Sabhas, desilting of drains, ponds and the need for collective community participation in developmental initiatives.

DDC Ayushi Sudan reiterated that the core objective of Block Diwas is twofold — to ensure timely redressal of grievances and to spread awareness about government schemes meant for public welfare. She urged people to proactively avail benefits of various schemes tailored for their socio-economic upliftment.

The event was attended by ADDC Champa Devi Thakur; SDM Ghagwal K.S. Bali; ACD, ACP and heads of all line departments.
