Doda : The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Saturday organised a One-Day Training Programme for Krishi Udyamis under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The event, held here in the Community Hall witnessing the participation of over 00 Krishi Udyamis from different parts of the district, was held under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh. The programme aimed to empower agricultural entrepreneurs with knowledge, innovation and digital tools to strengthen the agri-based economy of the region.
The programme was graced by the Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh as the Chief Guest.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Agriculture Department and the enthusiastic participation of the Krishi Udyamis. He emphasized the importance of adopting innovative and sustainable agricultural practices, integrating digital services through KissanKhidmatGhars (KKGs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs) and promoting entrepreneurship for rural development. He further encouraged participants to expand their services to include essential agricultural inputs, digital transactions and financial services, thereby ensuring transparency, digital inclusion and ease of access for the farming community.
Earlier, the event was inaugurated by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Amjad Hussain Malik.
The technical sessions were conducted by experts including Vivek Verma, Field Officer, IFFCO J&K; Kumar Vivek Sahai, Senior Manager, Nature Bio Foods Ltd (through virtual mode); TouqeerBagban, Managing Director, JK Aroma and Ashiq Hussain Mehta, District Manager, CSC Doda. The experts shared valuable insights on agribusiness opportunities, sustainable farming models, digital empowerment and the integration of modern tools for strengthening the agriculture sector.
As part of the programme, CSC onboarding devices and POS machines were distributed among the Krishi Udyamis to facilitate digital payments and promote e-governance in the agricultural ecosystem of the district. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Susheel Rattan Sharma, Nodal Officer, HADP Doda, who expressed gratitude to all participants, guests and stakeholders for their active support and reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to fostering agri-entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance among the farmers of Doda.
