Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has seized 5 vehicles used in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO Police Station Khrew Inspector Syed Mubarak seized five vehicles (04 L&Ts) bearing registration nos NKJ22CLMVMkA00200, 520052420-Ex200 Super, HYNDN 633 HE-0006988, HYNDN 633 CE-0069705 and 1 tipper bearing registration no JK13E-2327, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Khrew, Pampore.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 13/2025 and 14/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Khrew besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to report any such illegal activities by dialling 112 and warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in unlawful mining practices.
