KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today chaired a meeting of District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the progress under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
It was informed in the meeting that 5710 units have been established under HADP in the district. These units pertain to Agriculture, Horticulture P&M, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Sericulture.
Meanwhile, 770 applications were approved under HADP in the DLIC meeting besides Under JKCIP, 245 applications have been approved for establishment of the units.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that HADP mark a significant step towards improving farmer’s access to modern infrastructure, sustainable practices, and diversified income avenues. He added that the agriculture and allied sectors are the backbone of the rural economy, and interventions like these are instrumental in providing direct livelihood support, skill enhancement, and better market competitiveness to farmers and youth.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to facilitate speedy implementation of approved cases and provide handholding support to all the beneficiaries. He further stressed the need to focus on timely establishment and tracking of units to ensure effective on-ground execution of projects.
The meeting was attended by GM-DIC Kupwara, CPO, ACD, CAO, CAHO, DSHO, AMO, LDM, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers.
