J&K Bypolls: 27 Nominations Found Valid in Nagrota and Budgam After Scrutiny

Candidate Pool Narrows for Nagrota, Budgam Assembly Bypolls; Withdrawal Deadline Tomorrow

Jammu – The scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming Assembly by-elections in the 77-Nagrota and 27-Budgam constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir was completed today, resulting in a total of 27 valid nominations.

According to reports from Akashvani Jammu Correspondent, the Returning Officers for both constituencies confirmed the figures. In the Nagrota constituency, 10 nominations were found valid out of the total 13 candidates who had filed papers. For the Budgam seat, 17 nominations were cleared during the scrutiny process from the total of 20 candidates who had submitted papers.

Overall, 33 candidates had filed nominations for the two constituencies—13 for Nagrota and 20 for Budgam—before the scrutiny.

The last date for the withdrawal of nominations is scheduled for tomorrow, October 24. Following this, the final list of candidates will be published.

The polling for both Assembly constituencies is slated to take place on November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14.
