Zero-Tolerance to Terrorism: HM Shah Reviews J&K Security with Top Officials

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today chaired a crucial high-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in the national capital. The meeting, which focused on the prevailing security situation, counter-terrorism measures, and inter-agency coordination, was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top security and administrative officials.
Among the senior officials present were the Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Chief of the Army Staff, the Chief Secretary, and the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir, along with Directors General of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The Home Minister reportedly took a comprehensive review of the security apparatus in the Union Territory, with a particular focus on the security situation in the Pir Panjal region, where recent counter-terror operations have been concentrated.
Reiterating the government’s firm stance, Mr. Shah reaffirmed the Modi Government’s unwavering commitment to achieving a “terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir.” He emphasized the “zero tolerance policy against terrorism” and instructed all security agencies to maintain high vigilance and operate in a coordinated, synergised manner to eliminate terrorism from the region.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing counter-terror operations and discussed preparedness for the upcoming winter season, with the Home Minister stressing the need to prevent terrorists from exploiting snowfall to infiltrate across the border. Additionally, a review of key developmental projects in the Union Territory was also undertaken.
The review meeting is part of the central government’s regular mechanism to evaluate the security and development trajectory of Jammu and Kashmir.
