GCOE Jammu organises Mehandi Competition themed “Earning While Learning”

JAMMU: Cultural Committee of Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu organised Rangoli and Mehandi Competitions under the theme “Earning while Learning.’
The event provided the students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic Talents and learn about their Culture, imbibe in them a sense of creativity, aesthetic and spirit of team.
In the inaugural ceremony the College Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar highlighted the importance of skills among the youth. “These skills have high cultural value and by upgrading the same students can open their own start-ups and businesses,” she noted.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from students as well as from Female faculty members.
Around thirty students participated in the Mehandi Competition, while 10 students took part in the Rangoli Competition. Convener Cultural Committee Dr. Davinder Kour highlighted the cultural diversity of the country that is deep rooted in the Indian Value System.
The Cultural Committee comprising Dr. Sushma Bala, Dr. Shalini Rana, Prof. Balwan Singh, Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Dr. Shallu Jasrotia, Prof. Deepali Devi, Dr. Shalini Sharma and Dr. Suraj Parkash organized the event.
