JAMMU: On the direction of the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav and under the direct supervision of the Joint Commissioner (R&E) Subah Mehta and Deputy Commissioner (South) JMC Lal Chand, the JMC enforcement wing today carried out a major demolition drive against the building structures constructed without requisite permissions, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring planned and lawful urban development in the city.
During the operation, two illegal building structures were demolished at Upper Jallo Chak-Greater Kailash, Ward No. 68. These structures were constructed in clear violation of the prescribed building bylaws and regulations.
In a separate action, the JMC Enforcement Team demolished an unauthorized structure located in the Bantalab area of Jammu.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation has urged citizens to strictly adhere to the established legal framework for construction within the city limits. It further appealed to the general public to refrain from undertaking any illegal construction activities and to always obtain proper building permissions from JMC before commencing any construction work.
“The Jammu Municipal Corporation is committed to maintaining the planned integrity of Jammu city and will continue to take strict action against unauthorized constructions,” the Joint Commissioner (R&E) stated. “We request the cooperation of all residents in following the legal procedures that ensure safe, sustainable and organized urban growth for the collective benefit of the society.”
The Corporation emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue across Jammu to curb illegal construction and encroachments.
During the demolition drive, the Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Inspectors and other field staff of the Enforcement Wing were present.
