New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh, has said that Operation Sindoor will be remembered as a conflict that achieved its objectives with speed and precision, and the operation brought Pakistan to its knees. Addressing the annual presser on 93rd Air Force Day Anniversary Celebrations in New Delhi today, he said, India struck multiple targets in Pakistan and also destroyed four to five Pakistani fighter jets during the operation. He said, a clear directive, a clear mandate was given to the Indian Armed Forces. He said, during Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force was a prime stakeholder, taking down two major targets out of nine. He said that right from the planning stage, all three services worked together. He added that during this operation, indigenously developed assets were used with precision. He further said that a robust air defence infrastructure was a very important part of this operation.
The Air Force Chief emphasised the need to be future-ready for war. He said that the character of warfare is ever-changing and stressed that the next war will not be like the previous one.
The Indian Air Force will mark its 93rd anniversary on the 8th of October this year. To commemorate the occasion, the Air Force Day Parade will be conducted at Hindon Air Force Station. Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, will review the parade. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi will also attend the event.
