Reviews winter preparedness, developmental works
KUPWARA: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Trehgam, Mir Saifullah, today visited the remote border Tehsil Keran where he presided over a Sewa Parv Camp and later chaired a meeting to review winter preparedness and developmental works in the area.
At the Sewa Parv camp, organized as part of the nationwide initiative to promote public service and citizen outreach, various departments had set up stalls to provide on the spot services and disseminate awareness about different government schemes.
A health camp was also organised where specialist doctors were present including gynecologist, pediatrician, dentist, and cardiologist. Addressing the gathering, MLA Trehgam underlined the importance of Sewa Parv in strengthening citizen-centric governance and last-mile delivery of services.
He also chaired a meeting at the Tehsil office, Keran, which was attended by CMO, Tehsildar, CAO, DSHO, BMOs and other block-level officers. He directed officers to ensure sufficient supply of ration, medicine and essential goods, besides stressing on the availability of doctors during snowbound conditions.
A cultural programme was also presented by the Department of Information & PR Kupwara, featuring folk music, and highlighting themes such as Swachhta Hi Seva and financial inclusion schemes.
On the developmental front, MLA reviewed progress on road connectivity, power, drinking water, education, and health infrastructure. He called for speedy execution and adherence to quality standards, especially for projects slated to be completed before snowfall. He also instructed concerned officials to ensure the early completion of the long-pending hospital building at Keran Bala.
Interacting with locals, Saifullah reiterated his commitment to ensure that Keran receives due attention in governance and development, while commending the resilience of residents living in the challenging terrains of the border area.
