BARAMULLA: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo today conducted an extensive visit of Baramulla and reviewed the overall developmental scenario of district Baramulla.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Director School Education, Director RDD, and other officers accompanied the Chief Secretary during the visit.
At the outset, Chief Secretary inaugurated Sewa Parv Mela at Dak Bungalow Baramulla in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and other officers as part of the ongoing nationwide Sewa Parv campaign.
The Chief Secretary also inspected the stalls set up by various departments like Health, Education, Social Welfare, ICDS, Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, and others, to provide on-the-spot services, guidance, and information about a wide range of government schemes and welfare initiatives to the people.
During the Mela, Chief Secretary distributed sanction letters among beneficiaries under Mission YUVA, agriculture & allied sectors, thereby extending direct support to young entrepreneurs, farmers, and self-help groups.
He further handed over the keys of retrofitted scooties to specially-abled persons and nutritional kits to TB patients, underlining the government’s commitment to empower every section of society and ensure inclusive development.
During the visit, Chief Secretary chaired a comprehensive meeting at Dak Bungalow Baramulla to review the district’s developmental landscape, focusing on progress of ongoing projects, status of government run beneficiary schemes and other key initiatives across various sectors.
During the meeting, the DC provided a detailed presentation on the overall developmental scenario of Baramulla district, covering the status of ongoing projects across key sectors like Public Works (PWD), Health, PHE, Education, Power, Agriculture, and allied areas.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Secretary urged the officers to ensure effective implementation and saturation of key Centrally and UT-sponsored schemes, emphasizing that their prompt execution is essential for strengthening livelihoods and maximizing benefits to the people.
During the review of the health and education and other sectors, Atal Dulloo noted that significant investments have been made towards improving the infrastructure, the priority now must shift towards enhancing service delivery so that citizens experience real improvement in these vital sectors.
Later, Chief Secretary, along with Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, DIG North Kashmir, and other senior officers, participated in a plantation drive in the premises of Dak Bungalow Baramulla as part of the Seva Parv campaign.
