Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has attached a double-storey residential house worth ₹22,17,827/- lacs besides seizing cash amount of Rs. 14,52,100/- lacs belonging to drug peddlers namely Mudasir Ahmad Malik, Yawer Ahmad Malik & Shahid-ul-Islam Malik, sons of Gh Mohd Malik R/o Melhura Zainapora in Shopian, adding therein that the action was taken under section 68-E read with 68-F(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, as part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive in the district.
Stating that attachment order related to a case registered under FIR No.54/ 2021 and 87/ 2023 of Police Station Zainapora was executed in the presence of duly constituted Police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols Police in its statement further said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Shopian police, adding therein thatthe property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reaffirmed its commitment to combat the drug menace.
