Volunteerism, social contribution center stage of Sewa Parv campaign, DC Athar
KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 17: Sewa Parv 2025 commenced today with great zeal and enthusiasm across Kulgam district witnessing formal inauguration by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Athar Aamir Khan, who flagged-off a rally, an IEC Swachhta Van, and kick-started a plantation drive at the Mini Secretariat.
The inaugural day witnessed a variety of activities, including sanitation drives, awareness camps, registration and enrolment drives, and Swachhta pledges.
Addressing the occasion, DC said that the soul of the campaign lies in volunteerism and the collective contribution of all citizens towards the prosperity and development of society and the nation.
He added that a comprehensive action plan and activity calendar has been formulated to ensure that every department reaches out to citizens with their schemes and programmes, leaving no eligible beneficiary uncovered.
DC further emphasised the importance of keeping rivers, water resources, and surroundings clean, urging citizens to come together and shoulder a collective responsibility towards national development.
He also underlined that health camps, medical check-ups, sanitation initiatives, and plantation drives will be conducted across the district throughout the fortnight, and all arrangements in this regard have been finalised.
Day remained abuzz with awareness rallies, sanitation drives, plantation drives, health camps, blood donation camps and awareness sessions, on various government schemes.
Stalls were installed by various departments at the Mini Secretariat for awareness, registration, and enrolment.
Swachhta pledges were also taken by employees, students, and citizens, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness and community service.
During the Mega function held at the mini- secretariat, sanction letters of agriculture machinery under HADP were also distributed to beneficiaries.
