KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the performance of Self Help Groups (SHGs) functioning across the district under the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM).
During the meeting, DC took a detailed appraisal of SHG activities, financial linkages, livelihood generation, and implementation of various government schemes being facilitated through SHGs. He emphasized the role of women-led SHGs in strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship, improving household incomes, and ensuring inclusive development in rural areas.
It was informed that 8283 SHGs have been formed in the district covering 67235 households in 24 blocks of the district.
DC directed the concerned officers to extend all necessary support to SHGs for capacity building, skill development, and market linkages. He also stressed on effective monitoring to ensure transparency and accountability in fund utilization.
He also stressed on increasing SHG credit linkage. All banks as well as NRLM district and block program managers were directed to ensure improvement in the performance under mission mode.
ACD Kupwara, CPO, LDM, BDOs, DPM JKRLM, BPMs and other concerned attended the meeting.
