JAMMU: Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta today chaired a meeting here in the Directorate’s Conference Hall to assess the physical and financial progress achieve under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), NABARD and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), besides reviewing the implementation of various components of HADP.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director (Central) Sanjeev Rai Gupta; Joint Director (Planning) Priyanka Parihar; Regional Level SMS Sanjay Anand, Chief Agriculture Officer of Udhampur and Poonch; Technical Officer HADP (DAJ), besides other officers and staff. Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) from other districts of Jammu Division joined the meeting through virtual mode.
At the outset, the Director Agriculture emphasized the need for expediting the execution of assigned tasks and directed all Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) to fast-track the implementation process in their respective districts. He stressed upon the officers to ensure timely submission of updated Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs) under all projects for effective monitoring and evaluation.
He further instructed that while executing infrastructure development works, all officers must strictly adhere to quality parameters and Codal formalities in line with the approved Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). The Director Agriculture also said that all the subsidies provided to farmers under HADP will be disbursed directly through DBT mode to ensure transparency and timely delivery of benefits.
The key agenda items of the meeting included a review of action taken on decisions from previous meetings, farmer training programmes as per approved training calendars, area expansion under niche crops, and cluster development under Project Promotion of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. Progress updates were also discussed regarding the Kisan Sathi Portal, particularly with reference to farmer’s registration.
Director Agriculture directed all CAOs to ensure robust inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of the Project no 13, Integrated Farming System (IFS) and other developmental projects under HADP.
In his concluding remarks, Director Agriculture, Anil Gupta urged all officers to work with utmost dedication and responsibility to achieve tangible outcomes on the ground. He reiterated that the success of HADP and other flagship schemes largely depends on timely execution, farmer-centric approach and strict adherence to transparency norms.
