DLSA Shopian observes World Tribal Day at Tragpathri Zampathri

SHOPIAN: Marking the significance of World Tribal Day, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian today organized an awareness program at Tragpathri Zampathri area of the Keller tehsil.
The event, organized under the chairmanship of Chairman DLSA, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhury and Secretary DLSA, Mudasar Farooq.
The commemoratory event brought together key stakeholders committed to the welfare and rights of tribal communities in the region. Prominent attendees included Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Shopian; Tehsildar Keller, SHO Keller, ZEO, Keegam/Keller Zone, tribal activists, civil social members and panel lawyers and paralegal volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA.
Chairman DLSA delivered a keynote address focusing on the protection and promotion of Tribal Rights. He elaborated on constitutional and legal safeguards available to tribal communities, importance of land rights, forest rights, and cultural preservation and mechanisms for seeking legal aid and redressal of grievances through DLSA Shopian.
Secretary DLSA enumerated the free legal services available for the poor and downtrodden communities including tribal populace and called upon people to be proactive in voicing their needs and fighting for their rights.
Other dignitaries also addressed the gathering, highlighting critical issues and government initiatives pertaining to tribal populations. Discussions centered on enhancing access to education, healthcare, livelihood opportunities, and social security schemes specifically designed for tribal communities.
The role of awareness in combating exploitation and ensuring social justice was emphasised on the occasion. The program served as a vital platform for direct interaction between the tribal community members and officials.
Attendees were informed about various legal aid schemes, welfare programs, and procedures to access government services. PLVs were actively engaged in disseminating information and assisting community members.

GANDERBAL: On day eighth of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga (HGT) campaign, district Ganderbal witnessed an impressive wave of patriotic fervor and public participation through a series of vibrant activities held across schools, municipal wards, and panchayats.
Under the Har Ghar Swachhata banner, Municipal Council Ganderbal organised extensive Swachhata drives to promote cleanliness, public participation, and a sense of national pride in the district.
A mega Swachhata Rally was flagged-off from the Mini Secretariat Ganderbal, led by the Additional District Development Commissioner, ACP, Executive Officer MC Ganderbal, and other officials.
Similar cleanliness initiatives were carried out in various panchayats, drawing enthusiastic participation from sanitation workers, local residents, and youth volunteers. The initiative aims to ensure that the town and its surrounding rural areas remain clean and presentable during the nationwide celebrations.
Adding to the festive spirit, educational institutions across the district conducted a variety of tricolor-themed activities including rakhi making, rangoli, Tiranga art, painting competitions and Tiranga rallies. These events reflected the unity, creativity, and patriotic zeal of the participants.
The campaign continues to gather momentum with each passing day, symbolizing Ganderbal’s collective commitment to celebrate Independence Day 2025 with pride, unity, and active public involvement.
Har Ghar Tiranga campaign witnesses patriotic zeal across Budgam
BUDGAM: Under the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Budgam district today witnessed a series of colourful and patriotic events across multiple blocks, offices, and institutions, with enthusiastic participation from citizens, students, and officials.
In Chadoora, SDM office organised a Tiranga Bike Rally, featuring dozens of bikers carrying the National Flag that passed through various areas, drawing warm responses from onlookers.
In block S.K. Pora, a vibrant Tiranga Rally was organised by the block office, with staff, students, and local residents marching with the tricolour, raising patriotic slogans, and spreading the message of unity.
Across block Beerwah, Selfie Points were set up at prominent public spots, encouraging citizens to capture and share their patriotic moments with the tricolour.
At block Budgam and other block offices, several activities were conducted under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
A cleanliness drive and Swachhata Pledge was carried out at multiple locations under FSC Narbal and Irrigation Division Ompora, where staff cleaned drains, canals, and public spaces, combining the spirit of Swachh Bharat with the pride of the national flag.
Students of GHSS Parnewa displayed their artistic skills by creating a beautiful tiranga from colourful threads, symbolising their devotion to the country in a unique and creative way.
Several schools across the district also organised rallies, cultural programmes, and interactive sessions, reaffirming the values of patriotism, unity, and respect for the national flag.
Officials highlighted that Har Ghar Tiranga is aimed at connecting citizens emotionally with the National Flag, fostering unity, and instilling a deeper sense of pride in India’s heritage and freedom. The day’s events reflected overwhelming community participation and a shared commitment to the ideals of the campaign.
The celebrations will continue across Budgam in the coming days with more rallies, cultural performances, awareness drives, and household-level flag hoisting, ensuring that the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga reaches every corner of the district.
HGT campaign: Colorful, Vibrant Tiranga Rallies mark commencement of Phase II in Anantnag
ANANTNAG, AUGUST 09: With enthusiastic participation from students, youth and officials, colorful and vibrant Tiranga rallies marked the commencement of Phase II of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign across the district Anantnag, today.
Departments including Education, Youth Services & Sports, RDD, Poshan, Jal Shakti besides other stakeholders and agencies, organized these rallies with great patriotic fervor, reflecting the spirit of the national campaign.
Across educational institutions, cleanliness drives under the ‘Swachhta’ initiative were conducted. Additionally, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ selfie booths were set up, and campaign hoardings were installed in public spaces, creating a cheerful and festive ambience.
A host of other activities are scheduled as part of this phase, as the district continues its preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

BANDIPORA: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, Youth Services & Sports department Bandipora Saturday organised a series of activities to encourage citizens to celebrate the spirit of Independence, across the district.
On the occasion, Tiranga rallies were held in Bandipora, Quilmuqam, Chontimulla and Sumbal zones with enthusiastic participation of students, officials and locals. Participants holding the tricolour, raised patriotic slogans, creating a vibrant atmosphere on the streets.
The rallies aimed to promote the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and inspire a sense of unity, pride, and respect for the nation.
Plantation drives under the theme ‘Ek Paed Shaheedon Ke Naam’ were also held across different zones, combining environmental awareness with a tribute to the nation’s martyrs.
Similar rallies and activities in schools inspired citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes.
Tiranga rallies, awareness campaigns, and distribution of national flags were conducted across various educational institutions and public spaces to encourage citizens to hoist the tricolour with pride at their homes.
The campaign will continue till 15th August, culminating in the grand Independence Day celebrations across Bandipora.
Teetwal hosts Mega Tiranga Rally under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign
Hundreds of students, officials, other stakeholders attend Tiranga Rally
KUPWARA: In a vibrant display of patriotism and national unity, a Mega Tiranga Rally was organized today at Teetwal, near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, as part of the ongoing ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.
Rally comprising hundreds of students, officials, field functionaries and common people was flagged-off by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse from Gundishart Teetwal. SSP Kupwara, Gulam Jeelani; ACR Kupwara, SDM Karnah, Chief Education Officer, ACD, ASP and other district and tehsil level officers were present on the occasion.
The rally began at Gundishart and proceeded through the border village, resonating with patriotic slogans and cultural performance and concluded at Teetwal Ground. The rally was carrying a large National Flag with a length of 1.5 km which went through the LoC Teetwal.
Speaking with the media persons, DC said that the district administration Kupwara organized the Mega Tiranga Rally as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ national level campaign, going on across the country. He appealed to the people of Kupwara district to come out in large number and ensure active participation in celebration of the Independence Day.
Meanwhile, students from different schools presented cultural programmes including patriotic songs which enthralled the audience.
On the occasion, speakers emphasized the significance of the Tiranga as a symbol of India’s sovereignty, unity, and rich heritage. The rally also highlighted the peaceful aspirations of the border residents and their integral role in the nation-building process.
