Jammu: Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College in Jammu on Saturday entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) to enhance sports excellence and engage youth. This collaboration aims to provide structured cricket training, modern facilities, and talent development opportunities for college students aspiring to excel in cricket.
The signing ceremony featured key figures including Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College, and Brig. Anil Gupta (Retd.), a member of the JKCA administration. Other attendees included members of the college’s MoU Committee and JKCA officials. Prof. Gupta emphasized that the partnership would offer professional coaching, competitive exposure, and comprehensive sports development, alongside plans to upgrade the college’s cricket ground. Brig. Anil Gupta (Retd.) reiterated JKCA’s dedication to nurturing young talent from educational institutions, promising trained coaches, technical support, and access to cricketing infrastructure. He acknowledged the potential of GGM Science College students in sports and expressed readiness to support their development. Dr. Ashaq Hussain highlighted the MoU as a commitment to integrating sports into education and empowering youth, while Dr. Devinder Kumar noted the partnership’s potential to create new opportunities in physical education and health awareness. The event concluded with the formal exchange of documents, marking the start of a promising collaboration aimed at developing future sports leaders in Jammu and Kashmir.
